Pest in Plant Organ





1.  Potato Tuber Perforator Pest
Potato tuber gets potato tuber perforator pest shows symptoms that is in tuber skin is found group of caterpillar feces of dark brown colour. If the tuber is split, inside is found tracks. Leaf colour is darkred and it is found the fabric of thread that involves caterpillar.
Perfarator pest is called Phthorimaea operculella, that is grey coloured caterpillar of body length is 1 cm. This caterpillar will grow to be bee of grey coloured with flourish wing.
The control that must be done in the pest is by pilling potato plant by soil, then it is sprayed by using insecticide. Warehouse is released from bacteria (sterilized) before used.
2.  Cabbage Leaf Eater Pest
Cabbage leaf that is infected by pest shows the following symptoms. Pest (caterpillar) eats cabbage leaf without its epidermis so leaf has “window” and appears whitening even if the pest attack is heavy, the leaf will appear perforated only leaf ribs remain.
This cabbage leaf eater pest is called Plutella xylostella, or it is usually called white pest.
Control methods to cabbage leaf eater pest :
a.     Making the succession of plant for 3 - 4 months. This step is done by cultivating plants that are not in one family with cabbage in the land cultivating by cabbage. This is done on purpose to cut pest cycle.
b.    Biologically by using Bacillus thuringiensis.
c.     Chemically by using insectiside.
d.    Mechanically by doing trap in adult insect. Trap is done by using lamp and bowl containing water.
3.    Thrips Pest in Chili
Chili that is struct by thrips pest shows symptoms, that is chili leaf that is infected by pest changes to be curly. If the attack is heavy, leaf wrinkstices and its layer decrease, so the new leaf becomes narrower. The bottom surface of leaf that is infected by pest has silvery white colour. Fruit that is infected changes its shape and seen tissue like callus of light brown coloured in the fruit skin.
This pest in the form of Thrips sp insect. Thrips pest contron done chemically, that is by doing insecticide spraying.
4.  Pest in Garlic
Garlic that is struct by pest, its leaf is perforated with leaving trace of white coloured bite, or the leaf becomes thin layers and withered.
Pest in this garlic is Spodoptera exigua. Pest control in this garlic is done by in undate land before cultivated, cleaning land from disease, biological control by using Bacillus thuringiensis bacteria, and chemical control by doing spraying.
5.  Tomato Fruit Perforator Pest
Tomato fruit that is struct by perforator pest shows symptoms, such as the tip part or near the tip of fruit is perforated and near the hole is found pest feces. The number of holes can be more than one.
Pest in this tomato fruit in the form of Helicoverpa armigera caterpillar.
The control of tomato fruit perforator pest is done by doing plant rotation with plant endures to the pest. Pest control also can be done biologically by using its natural predator that is Microptilis manilae for cocoon annd caterpillar, Diadegmaargentiopilosa for caterpillar, and Trichogamma nana for  its egg.
6.  Green Bean Perforator Pest
Green bean that is infected by pest shows symptoms, those are in pod is found perforated hole of dark brown colour. Region around hole become blackish brown. If the pod is opened, it will appear caterpillar (pest) and its feces.
Pest in this green bean is Etiella Zinckenella Caterpillar. The control of perforator pest of green bean pod is done by discharging orok-orok plant (sweet meat made of steamed cassava) around that green bean plant or doing insecticide spraying.
7.  Mango Fruit Perforator Pest
Mango fruit that is infected by pest shows symptoms, those are the fruit perforated and around it is found metted feces from inside. The hole penetrates until seed. If the fruit is split, its inner part have been broken and rotten.
Pest in mango fruit there are two kinds :
a.     caterpillar with alternating body colour of red and white, its length is about 2 cm, and it’s larva of Noorda Albizonalia Butterfly.
b.    caterpillar of blackish brown body colour, its length is about 1 cm, and it is larva of Philotroctis Eutraphera Butterfly.
The treatment of perforator pest in mango fruit is done by spraying insecticide in mango fruit that still young or by covering young leaves one by one before Noorda Albizonalia Butterflies have opportunity to make eggs in the mango fruit.

1.  Blight Disease of Potato Leaf
Potato leaf that is infected by this disease shows symptoms those are necrosis pock in the tips of leaf, mainly in low temperature and high humidity also rainfall.
This disease is caused by Phytophthora Infestans Fungus. The control to the disease is by cultivating potato that endures to disease, by using healthy potato pest, and making spraying by using fungicide.
2.  Cabbage Wet Rotten Disease
Cabbage that is struct by wet rotten disease shows symptoms, hose are on its leaf is found wet pock of irregular shape. The pock then widens and folding, it has blackish brown colour. If the surrounding humidity is high, pock appears wet and there is liquid grains. Secondary bacteria infection causes plant releases specific rotten smell.
Wet rotten disease is caused by Erwinia Carotovora pv. carotovora Bacteria. The control to the disease is by keeping cleanliness of park form remain of sick plant, keeping humidity of not too high by cultivation cabbage plant with cultivating distance not too dense, product is washed by water that contains chlorine or borax and stored in warehouse that has enough of ventilation.
3.  Disease in Cabbage
Cabbage that is struct by pounder root disease shows symptoms, those are its root gets fision reaction and cell enlargement. Then is formed lump or irregular gland, the lump unite to be enlengthen swollen like pounder. Finally the leaf becomes grey green and faster withered because its transporter ttissue is broken. If the surrounding is wet, root is infected by secondary infection so the root is rotten at all.
Pounder rootdisease is by Plasmodiophora Brassicae Fungus. The control to this disease can be done by preventing the entering of fungus os disease cause to the lands that free from fungi infect, seeding in land phatogenic free, and liming is done if in the land not cultivated by potato.
4.  Chili Withered Disease
Chili taht is struct by withered disease shows symptoms, thosea re the young leaf is withered followed y yellowing of old leaves. If the tip of stem is cut and pressed, it from surrounding of vascular bundle will quit mucilage of grayish colour.
Chili withered disease is caused by Pseudomonas Solonacearum Bacteria. The controling the disease can be done by decreasing bacteria population in soil by covering soil with transparent plastic for one month, making plant rotation, regulating irrigation, and chemically by using bactericide also soil sterilization.
5.  Violet Spots Disease in Garlic
Garlic that is struct by violet spots disease shows symptoms, those are in its leaf appears small spots, folding of white coloured until grey. If its size enlarges, spots are seen “ringed” and its colour is rathers purplish. The tip of spots has reddish or purplish colour, it is surrounded by yellow colour that can spread upward or downward.
Violet spots disease in garlic is caused by Alternaria Porri Fungus. The controlig the disease is done by cultivating garlic in land that has good water conduct, making plant ratation, and making fungicide spraying.
6.  Leaf Rotten Disease of Onion
Onion leaf that is struct by leaf rotten disease shows symptoms, those are near its leaf appears pale green spots. If condition of surrounding is humid, on the leaf surface develops violet white coloured fungus. The leaf then becomes turn yellow, withered, and dried. The dead leaf has white colour and many found black fungi.
Leaf rotten dissease is caused by Peronospora Destructor Fungus. The controling of the disease can be done by using healthy seed or free from disease, burning leaf of harvest remain, and spraying fungicide.

7.  Leaf Spots Disease in Asparagus Branch
Leaf and branch of Asparagus that are struct by spots disease shows symptoms, those are found enlengthen spot of brown until grey coloured, with wide edge of reddish brown in its leaf and branch.
Leaf spot disease is caused by Cercospora Asparagi Fungus. Controling to the disease is done by spraying contact fingicide.
